A short ferry trip takes you to the Isle of Arran, where you can enjoy a ‘dram’ and visit the distillery at Lochranza. From Troon, take a day trip to Ireland on the ferry. The Ayrshire Coastal Path and River Ayr Walk are close by, along with shops, pubs and restaurants, 2 miles. A wealth of sandy beaches, lochs, rivers and marinas are nearby. Vibrant Ayr offers a wide range of markets, boutiques, indoor and outdoor leisure facilities, and not forgetting Ayr Racecourse, home of the Scottish Grand National. Cosmopolitan Glasgow (former European City of Culture), historic Edinburgh (host to the International Edinburgh Festival and Military Tattoo), Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park are all easily reached. Prestwick Airport is 20 minutes by car, Glasgow Airport 1 hour. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.
